Luke Sital-Singh @ The Ceilidh Place, Ullapool, United Kingdom
+ Ciaran Lavery
This Bristol based singer-guitarist nestles halfway between Tom Odell's soft balladeering and Justin Vernon's (of Bon Iver) heart-scraping orchestral folk: at times intense, but with crooning melodies that make the bitterest songs slip down smoothly.
Following on from his critically acclaimed 2014 album, The Fire Inside, Luke Sital-Singh releases his single ‘Killing Me’ and announces his new album, Time Is A Riddle, available for pre-order now and released 12 May.
“I like things that are well made – things that love has been put into. And not throwaway sh**e. It’s why I like the Slow Movement. It’s why I like vinyl.”
Sital-Singh’s wife, Hannah Cousins, is a printmaker and illustrator who produced exquisite artwork for Time Is A Riddle, and he is finessing a series of special filmed performances in the studios, workshops, foundries and ateliers of a host of crafts people he’s connected with up and down the country. Watch out for collaborations with a ceramicist in Glasgow, a knife-maker in Derby and a stained glass designer in Devon.
